No one can tie you up mentally unless you want it. The bound man wanted to be tied up because his foolish and stubborn mind towards a reason we never know. I learned from this story that it's very important if we can see ourselves from outsiders. Sometimes we put ourselves in a situation that trapped us and for whatever reason we do not try to escape from it. We should set ourselves free because there is no one who can do it for us. For example, if you are trapped and bound in a terrible marriage, you can release yourself. But many people will not do that because of the fear of unknown.
