French Onion Soup

法式洋蔥湯
4 onions, sliced (about 4 cups)
4個洋蔥切片(大概4杯的量)





1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup dry red wine (merlot)
2 cans beef broth
french bread
Swiss cheese (I used Monterey)

1/4杯奶油
1小匙糖
1大匙中筋麵粉
半杯不甜的紅酒 (我用Merlot)
2罐牛肉湯
法國麵包
Swiss cheese (我用Monterey)


In saucepan over medium heat, in hot butter,
cook onions and sugar for 10 minutes.

中火,先熱奶油
下洋蔥和糖炒10分鐘


Stir in flour until well blended with the onions and the pan juices.
加麵粉,攪拌均勻


Add wine and beef broth; heat to boiling.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes.

加紅酒和牛肉湯,大火煮滾
轉小火,加蓋煮10分鐘


Cut 1-inch-thick slices of bread; 
save remaining bread to eat with soup.
Toast the bread slices.
麵包切片後進烤箱烤 




Ladle soup into oven-safe bowls and 
place 1 slice toasted bread on surface of soup.
Place cheese onto toasted bread.
可進烤箱的碗裡盛湯
烤過的麵包放在湯上面
再放cheese在麵包上




Bake in 425 F oven 10 minutes or just until cheese is melted.
華氏 425度烤10分鐘.


Done!

My stand mixer broke a couple days ago.
I should've appreciated it more.
Gee~ the electric hand mixer is so difficult to handle the cookie dough.
It flys!!!

I had to use two rice paddles to finish mixing the dough.
連飯瓢都拿出來用了
