Maryland

Day 1

Sunrise

Eastern Time: 14:19

Dulles airport is so big. You'll never make it to your flight if you cut your time too short. You need at least half hour more than in SFO or ORD to get to your gate.

Day 2

The dock is free in this little town. How nice!
No wonder many people have their boats in the drive way.

Not like California, you see green everywhere.
peaceful paths in the woods are everywhere.

You have to eat crab cakes in Maryland.

Day 3

Sister in law has a green thumb.

Terrible Chinese food.

Day 4

The Amish dip the pretzel in hot butter. Yummy!

haha

$4 for using Baltimore tunnel

I've never seen a rest area along the free way in California as nice as this one in Maryland.
It provides travel information to tourists, vending machines, and bathrooms.
Not like in Taiwan, rest areas along free ways mainly to sell things.

On the way to Great Falls.

C & O Canal boat ride.
We were lucky because the past several weeks, there was not enough water to operate the boats.

going through the lock

the boat rises 8 feet

The boat is towed by mules.

This mule is laughing because the journey is over.

On the right hand side of the tow path is the Potomac River, C & O Canal is on the left.

The rocks and the rapid water is the reason C & O Canal was built.

I didn't find any four leaf clover.

This is a female ginko with fruits.

This is a male ginko.

Day 5

You can buy a flag from the souvenir store and have it flown on the pole before you take it home.

Marble steps in Baltimore

Fell's Point

Day 6

Lexington Market

More than half of the vendors are Asians.
I felt like I were in the night market in Taiwan if I hadn't seen all the Blacks there.

This vendor has the best crab cakes I've ever eaten.

only stand up eating, ha

That's a great slogan.

There are a lot of diners along the roads.

Corn fields are everywhere.

Halloween is around the corner.

This liquors store is famous because a lot of people from Pennsylvania drive there to buy alcohol.
Pennsylvania has only the government run liquors stores which are very expensive.

Golden Corral here is so much cleaner than the one in Tracy, also more food,
but the one in Tracy has the best yeast bread.

Day 7
Ranch 99 has it for $0.79.

Havre de Grace

Jericho Covered Bridge spans Little Gunpowder Falls near Kingsville

Rumsey Island

This is REALLY sick!
Your own boat dock in your back yard, even the town houses have it.

Day 8

Wow! Closed on Sunday!

The servers use the sanitary wipes to clean the tables after the customers leave.

Mouthwash dispenser in the bathroom.

After meal mint candy, I mean~ it is a fast-food restaurant, isn't it?
They are very thoughtful!

Mick was talking to the manager on our way out. Mick mentioned this was our first time to eat at a Chick-fil-A, and we are very impressed with everything. He was happy and gave me a free milkshake. ^ _ ^

Day 9

Hagerstown City Park

Am I their great aunt?
Am I THAT old???

My cousin wrote this book.

RIP, mom and dad.
